RECENTLY A PRESS RELEASE CAME FROM INCOMETAX DEPARTMENT THAT E-FILING ALONG WITH DIGITAL SIGNATURE IS COMPULSORY.BUT IT IS SAME TIME MENTIONED THAT IT IS AFTERPUBLISHED IN OFFICIAL GAZETTE.SO I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW EWHETHER ANY NOTIFICATION CAME IN THIS REGARD.

It is effective from the date of publication in the official gazette. If returned filed before that without digital signature also a valid return.

Pl see the notification 49/2010 dated 9/7/2010 in www.incometaxindia.gov.in
In the said notification see clause 2 (ab).
