Quick Summary

Users encountered an 'invalid hash value' error when trying to upload JSON files generated from the ITR-5 Excel utility. This was due to bugs within the utility preventing correct conversion. A temporary workaround suggested was using the online filing facility. Fortunately, a new, updated JSON version of the ITR-5 utility (v DU-.v.1.0.2) was released on 19/11/2021, which appears to have resolved the issue, allowing successful return uploads.

Error when uploading Json File, generated from the ITR-5 Excel utility available in Income tax Portal

Invalid hash value identified, modification to ITR details outside utility is not allowed......

17 November 2021 Excel utility is having bugs. Conversion to Jason while uploading is not accepted by system, hence the error.
Jason utility available under ITR 5 separately, but it is very old, not bug-free.
Wait for upgraded version of Jason.

19 November 2021 1.Sir, I think u dont know that u can not file ITR5 online Answered of your msg 17.11.21 Try with online facility. It may work now.
