DEAR SIR,
I AM FILLING INCOMETAX RETURN BEFORE TAX PAYMENT FOR A.Y. 2013-14. THE TAX AMOUNT IS ONLY RS. 106/- WHICH IS PAID AFTER E-RETURN FILLING. NOW WHAT IS STATUS OF MY RETURN. IS IT DEFECTIVE OR ACTIVE ? PLEASE TELL ME IN THE REGARDING MATTER, WHAT CAN I DO IF IT IS DEFECTIVE.

Your return is neither defective nor absolute but as you have not paid the tax due under self assessment a separate proceeding u/s 140A/221 can be initiated and the demand can be claimed with interest. Why for such a small amount you want to take this risk? Anyhow, pay the tax now and revise the return or rectify the return online.
