02 December 2011 I got mail from CPC with ZERO difference in my tax liability. I am salaried person. As per notice I have shown tax on total Income as ZERO and they have calculate 40,000. Below that TDS is 40,000 for both "Taxpayer" and "Department Calculation" column and Net amount payable has shown as ZERO. I just wanted to know the procedure to reply such notice or Should I ignore it?

03 December 2011 You could make rectification u/s 154. if u r unsatisfied with tax calculation.

03 December 2011 As you have stated, apparently it seems an typographical error is appeared in intimation issued u/s 143 (1). Since you are salary person returns must have filed by the employer, and as per the new procedure you will have to file online rectification request U/s 154, by uploading rectified ITR-1 (For Individuals having salary income)which is not possible in your case. So, if final tax liability as per AO and You is nil and if you are satisfied with that then just ignore the notice.
