Is interest on extended SCSS taxable wef F.Y.2026-2027?

Interest earned on an extended Senior Citizen Savings Scheme (SCSS) account is taxable, just as it is during the initial term of the deposit. You are required to include this interest income in your total income and pay tax on it based on your applicable tax slab.
