24 June 2013 I have one duplex flat, One floor (50%) I have rented out for Rs. 1.20 Lacs p.a. and One Floor I am using for self. My Interest on Housing Loan is Rs. 4.50 Lacs p.a.. Can I claim Rs.2.25 Lacs interest against rented property and Rs. 1.50 Lacs of interest against own property. I am a salaried employee and my annual salary is Rs. 9.60 Lacs p.a.. Please suggest.

24 June 2013 Yes, you can definitely do same treatment. and claim 1.5 lacs for self occupied house and 2.25 lacs interest for let out portion.
