23 February 2011 Company engaged in providing coaching to student in class rooms. Service is registered with service tax authorities under the catgory Commercial Training & coaching. Premises are taken on rent by compay, service tax is paid on rent. Company is collecting service tax from students.

Let me know whether input credit can be taken for service tax paid on Rent.

please also let me know service tax paid on any other services availed by company can be taken as input credit. List of services?

24 February 2011 Under CENVAT Credit Rules, 2004.

The one of the conditions to be fulfilled to claim input credit is " The input service/input materials should be used to provide output service/ or manufacture the output Finished goods. Those inputs are coming under the above said condition shall be allowed take credit, irrespective of category of services used in the process of providing output service
