Indemnity Bond Format for Excess TDS on rent refund

This query is : Resolved

Quick Summary
If you've paid excess TDS on rent and are seeking a refund, the tax department may require an Indemnity Bond. While there isn't a strictly specific format, the key is to use a bond paper and clearly state the reason for the bond, such as paying TDS at 5% instead of the correct 3%. You may need to adapt a general template to your specific circumstances.

19 April 2025 Thank you sir. Would you have a specific format for this indemnity bond for claiming the excess TDS on Rent that was paid at 5% instead of 3%.

19 April 2025 Specific format would not be available. You have to change few lines as per your requirement. There is no specific rule for it. Important is bond paper and the reason for the bond.
