You lost the return means You filed but you lost the copy of the same know???

Than no need to filed the return again..
You can download the Copy of ITR Acknowledgement Online,,, from incometaxindiaefiling.com , where u uploaded your return you can take the ack copy from "download" section
& FILING ONLINE RETURN IS THE GOOD WAY!!! You continue with the same!!! by doing this your return assessed early n your refund also gets on time!! no any delay time saving as per my opinion!!

Manually IT Return has been filed. There is no option is available to get ack. from income tax site. Option is available only if assesse has filed online return.

AS return is filed Manually, you can get copy from your Local Income Tax Ward where you filed your return. They can provide you the photo copy of your return. it will be easy if you know the filing Date or Acknowledgement no.
@Vandana you are answering about online filing.
@Saurabh you can not file online return for AY 2009-10 because last date was 31st march 2011 for that assessment year.
