hello,
i would like to file my income tax return for the FY 2011-12. my taxable income is 210000. i did not pay the tax amount and i would like to pay this amount now. kindly send all the detail

Tax on income = Rs.3000
Edu cess @3% = Rs. 90
Interest u/s 234A = Rs. 402
Total Tax payable = Rs.3492/-
Provided the above calculation is computed for Male Individual assessee.
The interest computation is made upto Aug-2013 if you file your return after Aug-2013 then Rs.31/- shall be increase for each month or part of the month of delay.
Challan no to pay tax is 280 and you have to select self assessment option and A.y 2012-13 while depositing of tax.

I also said regarding the payment of interest amount. Interest shall be pay on the self assessment tax payment.
And AO has the right to levy penalty of Rs.5,000/- or more but now(at the time of filing of return of income) you need not to pay any penalty, if you received any demand notice for levy penalty from AO then only you have to pay such penalty amount.
In one word levy and collection of penalty depending and in the hands of AO.
