13 April 2013 Dear sir

I have filed income tax return of my friend in ITR 1 for the AY 2011-12 on 23/04/2012 online. only TDS deducted by bank is claimed as refund. today when i checked the status of the return on incometaxindiaefiling.com is says "ITR transfered out of cpc to jurisdiction assessing officer in income tax office"
What does this meaan ? and what should be my next action?

13 April 2013 It means you filed return has been transfer from CPC to your area Assessing officer for process of your return. So now the completion of assessment process and sending of refund of you is in the hands of Your area Assessing officer(i.e in case if you filed manual return then at which officer you have to file return to such officer your return transfered for processing of assessment). So now Such AO shall complete process of your return and send refund to you. If you want to any further information regarding status of process of your return then you have to contact your area AO(your area income tax office).
