Income Tax Refund after Death of Person

17 July 2009 I got Income Tax refund cheque for F.Y. 2007-08 of my father.He expired 10 days before the date of receipt of cheque.Bank people are not accepting it, as it is not signed by him on the backside of the cheque. What procedure should I follow to get the refund?

17 July 2009 You have to return this cheque to income tax dept with a letter saying that you are the leagal hire of the assesse and enclose the death certificate and affadvith from the gazeted officer saying that you are the only leagal hear of the assessee
