Income tax benefit for telephone allowance

Dear Sir,
I just come to know with my friends that if employees get salary with Telephone Allowance like HRA, Transport Allowance, the telephone allowance is fully tax free allowance.
Please suggest me about the same so that we can also get the benefit if our employer will make the changes in salary structure with the Telephone Allowances.
Apart from that do employee need to submit the telephone bill to claim this exemption.

Telephone allowance is not an exempted allowance and hence is fully taxable. If you are getting telephone reimbursement and not an allowance then only no tax would be payable
