18 November 2013 As per sec 56, what is the meaning of lineal descendant of an individual???
whether it includes daughter's children and her grand children also or not???

18 November 2013 the lineal descendant will include not only children and grand children but also great grand children and their children as well. No limitation as to the degree of relationship is prescribed so that a lineal ascendant or descendant of not only first and second degree but also third and fourth degree and so on will also qualify as a relative.
Hence, daughter's children, her grand children and so on also classify as relative

Lineal ascendant include father, mother, grandfather and grandmother, great grandfather and great grandmother and so on.

Similarly, the lineal descendant children, grand children, great grand children and their children as well.

No limitation as to the degree of relationship is prescribed so that a lineal ascendant or descendant of not only first and second degree but also third and fourth degree and so on will also qualify as a relative...
