03 December 2013 hi. i got Import and Export No under my firm..yet i didnt done any foriegn trade. i am interested in doing both imp and exp also.. i want know the importance of IEC role in foreign trade ?

05 December 2013 Refer to para 2.8 of current foreign trade policy spokes that the person who wish to export for personal use / agriculture purpose does not require IEC code .

you got also RCMC of your business.

Subject:- Councils authorized to issue Registration-cum-Membership Certificate (RCMC) Certificate.

The provisions relating to registering authorities for issuing Registration-cum-Membership Certificate (RCMC) are at Para 2.67 of Hand Book of Procedures Vol.I. In this regard, it is clarified that:
While obtaining RCMC, an exporter has to declare his main line of business in the application. The exporter is required to obtain RCMC from the Council which is concerned with the product of his main line of business.

Irrespective of para (i) above, a status holder has the option to obtain RCMC from Federation of Indian Export Organisation (FIEO).

In case an export product is not covered by any Export Promotion Council/ Commodity Board, etc. RCMC in respect thereof is to be obtained from FIEO.

This issues with the approval of competent authority.
