I am a GST registered Dealer do I need to take IEC CODE for importing.

As of now you do need it.

DGFT notification dated 12/6/17 says GST Number is sufficient no IEC Code is to be declared

I imported goods in Sep, custom agent asked for both IEC certificate and GSTIn certificate.
I have read that govt is trying to dispense with IEC but practically it has not been done yet.
