Iec code for import by a company for self use

A private Limited company wants to import a Computer Server for self use. Whether IEC Code is required or General IEC Code 0100000053 may be used.

Refer to Para 2.07 IEC Number Exempted Categories para (b) (b) Following permanent IEC numbers shall be used by non – commercial PSUs and categories or importers / exporters mentioned against them for import / export purposes :
0100000053
But the Persons /Institutions /Hospitals importing or exporting goods for personal use, not connected with trade or manufacture are exempt from IEC Code.
in your case IEC code is mandatory for Pvt Ltd. Company.
