12 January 2012 Our group has 5 proprietary concerns. The PAN no is the same for all the 5 concerns. Only one IE code is issued against one PAN card.

Can we take the IE code in the name of the Proprietor in common and use it for all the proprietary concerns. Or can we take it in the name of the one proprietary concern and endorse the names of the others in the IE license. Please clarify

Only one IEC would be issued against a single PAN number. Any proprietor can have only one IEC number and in case there are more than one IECs allotted to a proprietor, the same may be surrendered to the Regional Office for cancellation.

12 January 2012 Do agree with experts but also to mention here.. if you have different branches as i assume for five proprietary business at different places then you should mention the places and names in the application form for IEC.
