26 December 2011 I am a member of ICSI. As per Institute's rules :

1. Can I be a partner in a partnership firm having business in dairy farming and manufacturing & marketing of dairy products?

2. If the answer is No, will it differ, if I am not looking into day to day affairs of the firm's business and this fact is noted in the partnership deed?

3. What if, I am partner in the firm before I became member of the Institute.

Kindly advise.

06 January 2012 Answer to all of your queries is - You can do this business if you are not in practice. If you are in practice, then you can do this business subject to approval of Council.
