Is House rent paid to wife eligible for HRA exemption u/s. 10(13)? Is there any circular or case law regarding this.

25 January 2012 Why is there any need of case law for the same. Firstly confirm whether the house is in the name of wife and she is the legal owner. Then you can anytime pay the rent. In case the officer doesn't agree for the same, also prepare a rent agreement for the same.
