Hi,
I would like to know incase of HRA Exemption if Maintainenace Charges paid by the employee are eligible for deduction.
Secondly Service tax paid on LIC & Mediclaim premiums are eligible under 80C.

Mediclaim Premium is allowable u/s 80D of the Income ax Act and service tax charhed on premium amount is stritly not allowable but every body is taking benefit of premium paid including service tax and most of the case It Department do not have any objection

Service Tax is an inherent part of premium paid and is included in the total charges paid as premium, hence the benefit of including the in the gross premium paid can be availed.
