Hra claim paid to wife on a rented flat

05 January 2014 My wife has a flat alloted to her from her company for which she pays 1400 rent to her
company.
Since we both are earning and the rent is very high,we share the rent .

The rent is deducted from my wifes salary by her company.
Can I claim HRA by showing that I pay half the rent to my wife.
Moreover, since she is already paying 14000 rent,if I am paying her 7000 as rent will this add to her income.
