IF AN EMPLOYEE JOIN THE COMPANY BETWEEN THE FINANCIAL YEAR AND SUBMITTING INVESTMENT DECLARATION FOR 12 MONTHS( HRA PAID BY EMPLOYEE RS 10000/PM). HOW CAN WE CALCULATE HRA.. (FOR EXAMPLE IF HE JOIN IN SEPTEMBER 2017) AND HIS SALARY STRUCTURE IS:-
BASIC RS 35000
HRA:- RS10000
CA:- RS4000
OA:- RS1000.
BASIC RS 35000
HRA:- RS10000
CA:- RS4000
OA:- RS1000.

Less of the following will be exempt per Montg
1) HRA Actual Received (10000)
2) Rent paid (***) less 10% of Basic (3500)
3) 50% of the basic salary if staying in a metro city and 40% in a non-metro city.
