Is there any law in Income tax which made to produce rent agreement is compulsory. Or employee can produce the rent receipts for any amount to claim fully HRA benefit.

The policy says that you have to submit rent agreement too but hardly one can produce the rent agreement.
So i think one can produce only rent receipt of amount paid by him as a rent.

employee can produce the rent receipt or the rent agreement or the declaration from the landlord,if required.
