18 January 2011 not mentioned in act but you can check case laws, may be you find.

But u/s 10(13)A it is defined that rent paid for accommodation purpose is eligible for HRA and paying guest is also paying for his accommodation.

Actually, I was also aware about the provision of section 10(13)A....

but i was asking this as paying guest also pays for food & other amenities although the major part is of rent but as such there is no distribution ..........so can Deptt create any problem in future ???

18 January 2011 In such circumstances , you may take receipt for rent and food separately and take the claim only for rent paid as paying guest .
