You can make payment using online banking, if your bank is listed in the banks eligible for online payment for GST(you can see the list while making payment). You can make payment on any day based on your bank. You can even pay on sundays or any other public holiday and cash ledger will be updated as soon as payment was made(In case amount was debited in your bank and payment failed then challan status will be shown as initiated and it will be changed as successful after few hours or may be 1 or 2 days). However, check your bank timings when doing payment as some banks have time restriction. For Example, SBI allows GST payment upto 8 P.M. only and after even if you pay the amount, the amount will be updated on next day only
