Is their any need of Licence for Export of Agriculture Seeds?

27 August 2016 Dear Abhay Mande,
For export, Importer – Exporter Code (IEC) is mandatory without which no export or import shall be permitted. At present IEC is issued online using digital signature only. For obtaining digital signature you may approach any one of the certifying authorities - (n ) code solutions , e-mudra and sifycomm. For further information /guidelines /list of documents required to be filed, you may like to refer to website https://dgft.gov.in/exim/2000/iec_anf/ieconlnapplform.htm . The Application fee for IEC is Rs 500/-
There are many agricultural seeds. You have not specified the name of the seed to be exported. However, the exoport of seeds of wheat, paddy, cashew , oninon etc. are permitted under licence granted by Export Licensing Committee in the office of DGFT, Minisry of Commerce and Industry, New Delhi. Further, for export of agricultural seeds Registration cum Membership Certificate (RCMC) from Agricultural and Processed Food Products Exports Development Authority (APEDA), New Delhi is essential.
