my uncle have lost copies of
his it returns and he want his 7 previous assessment years
what is the procedure to follow to get the returns

09 April 2012 Go to the Income Tax Department and make an application and ask for certified copies of the papers and documents submitted for last 7 years. You will be required to deposit fee for certified copies. Alternatively, catch hold of the peon of the concerned ward and ask him to find out the file of your uncle and get the photocopy of all the documents on payment of photocopier charges.
