IDOWNLADED ITR4 FROM INCOME TAX WEBSITE WHICH WAS IN MS EXCEL FORMAT. I FILLED UP THE FORM AND NOW IAM NOT ABLE TO CONVERT IT INTO XML FORMAT TO UPLOAD ITR.. IDIDNT FIND ANY ONLINE SOFWARES.. PLEASE HELP ME..

You do not need any software for converting excel into xml if you have downloaded excel utility from Income Tax Website. Follow this steps to convert Excel file into xml file: 1.Validate each sheet after they have filled. 2.Once all relevant sheets have been filled up, the user can then click on the "Generate XML" button. This will validate once again all the sheets, and direct the user to the confirmation page which shows the various schedules listed. 3.The user can then confirm the same with their actual data, and if ok, click on Save XML option to finally save the generated XML to the file system. XML File generated will be saved where excel utility is saved. 4.This file can then be uploaded towards efiling your return and an acknowledgement can be hence generated.

You will find Generate XML button in Part A of utility. Enable Macros if not enabled the same before otherwise you won't be able to navigate among excel worksheets or generate xml file.
