Housing Loan or Hsg. Renovation Loan

28 September 2009 If i take housing loan or housing renovation loan from a credit society should I will be elgible for exemption u/s 24 and U/s 80c. Does it make any difference if I take it from the co-operative bank.

29 September 2009 The important point is that it should have been written in the bylaws of the credit society that it can deal in housing finance. The society should be recognised to distribute housing loan. If it is mentioned then you can claim the deduction u/s. 24 as well as 80C.
