I have bought a house and taken a housing loan. Prior to that I was in the rented accomdation.
I got the loan disbursed on 12th Sep '09 and possesion of the house on the same date. However due to furniture work etc. I shifted in the house on 1st Nov '09.
For the period of 12th Sep to 30th Oct '09 can I claim both deduction under HRA and u/s 24 and 80(c). If not what claim is allowed in the income tax.

There is no specific bar in either HRA or the interest sections that prohibit each other.
If you see section 80GG which deals with rent paid by non-salaried persons, there is a specific bar against claiming 80
GG benefits if the assessee also owns a house.
But there is no specific bar like this in HRA.
So u can claim it.
