can i get a housing loan frm bank by giving my other jointly owned self occupied house (50%)as security. Is there any income tax benefit?

But one more thing you wanted to Housing loan i.e you have to take loan for the purpose of purchase or construction of housing property then in such cases bank makes the mortgage of such constructed or purchasing house property and need not to require any other security because of purchasing or construction of house is the colletral security to the bank.
