12 November 2011 The deduction u/s 24 is allowed with respect to the payments made to Municipal Authorities. The Date of Payment i.e. 29/03/2011 needs to be considered and as such, the same needs to be considered in the FY 2010-11. Provided you have the acknowledged copy of the receipt of payment as of 29/03/2011.
