26 May 2011 Hello experts i hve complted my 3 yrs of articleship & have taken 156 days so how many days i m allowed to tak as per icai's regulation & whth any extension is applicable to me ? for tht which form shld i submit to icai?
Ur advise would be of imense help...thnxx in adv.

26 May 2011 1/6th of articleship period can b availed as leaves. So u did not exceed limit,

26 May 2011 The way of calculating leaves is as follows

Total article ship days - Leaves Days / 6 = Leave permissible

For Eg:
Articles period - 3 Yrs i.e. 1095 days
Leaves - 150 taken
Maximum allowable = 1095-150/6 = 157 Days.

So, Student can take maximum of 157 days in above case.

(At any case, total leaves are article ship period / 7)
