What is the meaning of Hedge Funds? Also give some instances.

To give you a broad idea, hedge fund is a fund which can invest in any financial instruments including shares, bonds, derivative instrument like options, futures etc.,. Typically, hedge fund use to leverage to a greater extent to make use of the market imbalances including the arbitrage oppourtunities.
