If you have not completed GMCS-1 (General Management and Communication Skills) by March 2015 and your CA Final exams are due in May 2015, there are several potential consequences to consider:
1. **Eligibility for CA Final Examination**: Typically, completion of GMCS-1 is a prerequisite for appearing in the CA Final examination. If you have not completed GMCS-1 by the time of your CA Final exams, you may not be eligible to sit for the exams.
2. **ICAI Regulations**: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has strict regulations regarding the completion of GMCS-1 within the stipulated time frame of 12 months from the commencement of articleship. Failure to complete GMCS-1 within this period may result in penalties or delays in your CA Final examination schedule.
3. **Impact on Articleship**: Your articleship completion certificate may be withheld until you complete GMCS-1. This could affect your ability to progress to the next stage of your CA journey or to obtain membership from ICAI.
4. **Financial Implications**: There might be financial implications if you have to extend your articleship or if there are fees associated with late completion of GMCS-1.
Given your situation where your CS Final exams are also scheduled, it is crucial to prioritize your study schedule and ensure you allocate time for completing GMCS-1 as soon as possible. Here are some steps you should consider:
- **Contact ICAI**: Reach out to the ICAI regional office or your branch to explain your situation. They may provide guidance on the best course of action and any possible extensions or solutions available to you.
- **Plan Ahead**: Create a plan to balance your CS Final exam preparation with GMCS-1 completion. Determine if you can enroll in GMCS-1 during breaks or after your CS exams.
- **Seek Support**: Consider discussing your options with your employer (if applicable) and seeking support from your mentors or peers who may have gone through similar situations.
- **Stay Updated**: Keep yourself updated with any communications from ICAI regarding deadlines, extensions, or changes in regulations that may affect your timeline.
It's essential to address this issue promptly to avoid any complications with your CA Final exams and articleship completion. Communicate effectively with ICAI and follow their guidance to ensure compliance with their regulations.
