Gift received from a married daughter will attract cgt

21 November 2013 If a father or his son receives a land by way of gift from his married daughter.Will it be considered as transfer and attract Capital Gain Tax.As the property was purchased my father in the name of daughter.Now after daughter's marriage the father wants to register property in his own name or in the name of his son.

21 November 2013 Such transfer has to be done by way of a valid GIFT DEED and after payment of Stamp Duty applicable in state.
