A MANFACUTIRNG COMPANY PRODUCING EXCISABLE PRODUCTS, WANT TO TAKE A GODOWN IN SAME CITY FOR DISPATCH FINISHED GOODS TO PARTY FROM THERE.
WHAT ARE THE PROCEDURE FOR TAKEN THIS GODOWN?
WHETHER BILLING IS TO MADE FROM GODOWN TO PARTY OR DIRECTLY FROM COMPANY?

24 June 2009 First decide, whether excisable invoice will be issued from the godown? if yes then this godown has to be registered with central excise.

You have to apply for an RC and then have to maintain RG23-D register for receipt and despatch of excisable goods in the godown. A periodical return will also required to be filed.

The invoice will have the details of receipt invoice out of which the despatches are being made apart from other informations.

If no excisable invoice is required to be issued then registration is not needed, goods can be moved from the factory in the name of consignee via godown.
