Form 26AS contains
1. Details of tax deducted on behalf of the taxpayer by deductors
2. Details of tax collected on behalf of the taxpayer by collectors
3. Advance tax/self assessment tax/regular assessment tax, etc. deposited by the taxpayers (PAN holders)
To register for form 26AS you need to do the following setps,
1. Register online at http://www.tin-nsdl.com/panregistration.asp
2. For verification you have the NSDL personal at you place or else you can also visit to TIN center for that.
For verification you need to produce you original pan card
3. After verification you need to pay the applicable fees for form 26AS
4. After all NSDL will activate you form 26AS after 3 working days of verification.
It helps us to fill the info in income tax return. Due to this your income tax return will be processed without any error.
Its a good tool, i advice you to register for that.
