what is meaning of 12b and is this compulsory to issue in mid of year when employees regine from company

FORM 12B ISSUED WHERE THE BREAK UP OF SALARY WHICH EMPLOYEE WAS GETTING WITH THE PREVIOUS EMPLOYER IS MENTIONED AND OTHER DETAIL LIKE TDS DEDUCTED, DEDUCTION CLAIMED, PAN NO. ETC IS ALSO MENTIONED, AND THE SAME IS REQUIRED BY THE NEW EMPLOYER FOR THE PURPOSE OF CALCULATION OF TDS IF APPLICABLE TO THE EMPLOYEE.
