17 December 2015 Hello. I have sold my property in Sept.15 and buyer has deducted 1% tax. I can see that it reflects on my Form 26AS. But after multiple reminders buyer is not issuing me a Form 16B. My query is:
a. Is there any other way that a seller can get form 16B?
b. If form 16B mandatory while filing returns?

17 December 2015 Downloading Form 16B is a simple process only. What he should do is to register his PAN on www.tdscpc.gov.in and download the Form 16/16B generating utility. Then download the Form 16B system file and then convert the same into PDF using the utility.

For filing, it is advisable to obtain the original FOrm 16B from the buyer. This would help you in case any assessments are called for. For filing the return of income, it is not mandatory for entering. But it is advisable to have the FOrm 16B at the r\erliest.
