04 July 2011 I Have problem, the problem is that My friend is providing the servives in Rwand to Rwanda Development Board/Information Communications as Individual Consultant and raised monthly Invoice to Rwand Development Board and received as 14000/= USD monthly ixclusive of local taxes
So I want to know that what will be the tax liability in India,

05 July 2011 Assuming that your friend who has provided the referred services is a resident in India, such an income shall be taxable in India u/s 9.
However if any taxes are borne on the same income abroad then relief can be availed u/s 91.

06 July 2011 The first thing to be ascertained is whether the person providing the services is a resident of India or not.

06 July 2011 The Indian National if earning income from providing services from India then such income accrues in India and is chargeable under sec. 5 itself and there is no need to go to sec. 9.
