19 December 2012 When any foreign exchange (currency) comes to your bank account Bank wants confirmation from your side as per RBI rules to know why the money in foreign exchange has to come to your account. once you apply for FIRC it will come to you in 15 days. it contains following detail - original currency / equivalent indian currency / transferor bank purpose of recipt, name etc. As per RBI Guideline there is a time limit for submit these documents to Bank this is 180 days.
