24 August 2013 Dear friends,

I have e filled my itr for AY 2012-13. It was filled wrongly. Wrong figures were submitted. I had filed the same in feb 2013. I have not sent ITR V yet to the cpc Bangalore.

Now as 120 days expired, can i file fresh return for the same Assessment year with corrected figures..?

If yes then whether i have to file original return or revised..?

If revised then can the revised return be filled when original return was filled after due date..?

24 August 2013 if you have not submitted the signed copy of ITR V with 120 days or extended period, your return is treated as invalid return and treated as the return never has been filled.

Technically you are correct that you have not filled the return and can file the belated return

try to file original return and check if the system will allow or not

24 August 2013 instead of cancelling the old return, IT department extend the date of filling of ITR V

24 August 2013 1)technically return becomes invalid if not send to cpc with in 120 days

but i heard some problem occuring in filling itr form

2)so fill form with 139(4) if it is successfull it will be fine

3)other wise you requred to select 139(5) revised option which only enable you to file return

24 August 2013 You are right dear but as we know that belated return can not be revised. orginal return was filled on feb 2013 so it was filled after due date..
