16 March 2012 Can return b filed for ay 09-10? And then file returns for ay 10-11 and 11-12

17 March 2012 Return for assessment year 09-10 cannot be filed as it is time barred. Last date for filing return of assessment year 10-11 is 31 March 12. Return for assessment year 11-12 can be filed.

17 March 2012 No doubt the return for the AY 2009-10 cannot be filed now but no one stop you filing the said return in current date. What yu have to do is file the return in physical form and for next years you can file online. If there is any refund for the assessment year 2009-10 then above 10,000 the same shall be given by the Commissioner otherwise by the ITO. If tax is due then pay the tax with interest and wait for the notice u/s 148 from the ITO for regularization of the return
