29 August 2011 I have PAN card since 2008...bt didnt filed any tax return as dont hav any taxable income...bt now i want to file my tax return for asst.yr.2010-11 n 2011-12.I dont hav any taxable income in these years also.Now my query is whether my return for asst.yr.2010-11 will invite any income tax dept.notice...?
as I dont wann any type of notice from IT dept.
pls giv ur views for asst.2010-11,shall i submit the return or not....

29 August 2011 Holding a Pan Card does not specifically require filing of income tax return. There is no problem in filing returns for 2010-11 onwards.

29 August 2011 In most of the case the assessment of Income Tax department are made till 30th September,2011 for the A.Y. 2010 - 2011 and beside not having taxable income you are not even mandatory require to file return still if you want you can file return but that will not be the reason for inviting I.T. dept. Notice however if the details furnished by you in return are such suspicious than only I.T. Dept. will send you notice as generally it is auto generated from system only nowadays based on specific criteria.

So, In my opinion else or otherwise required specifically you should avoid filing return of Income for A.Y. 2010 - 2011.
