25 January 2011 Dear Experts,

I have recd a letter questionaire (Notice under sub section (1) of section 142 from income tax in which one coulmn they have asked me to submit details of income tax assesment for the earlier 3 years.

What does that mean since I only filed it but no confirmation of assesment recd from income tax ?

I had filed all my returns. Unfortunately for one year the return is not traceable.

What do I do ?

25 January 2011 Sir It is Notice under subsection (1) of section 142.

25 January 2011 Have you received any notice u/s 143(2) for assessment or is it the notice u/s 142(1) for filing the return of income ?

25 January 2011 Yes sir, there was 5-6 months earlier a notice under 143(2).

Besides above details they have asked me other details of my Bank account which I have prepared but I stuck due to Filed return information for earlier 3 years.

27 January 2011 You can dare to avoid informations of earlier years if asked u/s 142(1).
