02 April 2018 My mother has gifted me Rs 2 lakh by a/c payee cheque..
i have converted same amount into F.D.R

..How to show this amount in my books. ?..
.i am using busy accounting package

07 April 2018 Hi ,

First of all you need to pass the entries in your capital account.

1. Bank Ac Dr.
To Gift from Mother Account.

2. Gift from Mother Account Dr..
To Capital Account.

Then FD made is accounted as usual.
3. FDR Account Dr.
To Bank Account.

FD should be under Investment Head.
