Extension of AGM in case of Government Company

This query is : Resolved

27 August 2010 Dear Sir,

Whether approval of Registrar of Companies (application in the e-form 61) is also required under section 166(1) of the Companies Act, 1956 along with approval of Ministry of Corporate Affairs in case of Government Company or approval of Ministry of Corporate Affairs is sufficient to extend the Annual General Meeting by three months i.e. 31st Dec. 2010.

Please tell me procedure for extending AGM in case of Government company.

Thanks

27 August 2010 Kindly refer the notification no. SRO 236 dated 31-1-1978

Where instead of Registrar, approval of Central government needs to be taken incase of government companies.

Other procedure remains same like other company.
