16 June 2012 Whether Interest accrued on education loan taken from employer is eligible for deduction under 80E of Income tax return for 2012-13

16 June 2012 Under section 80E if interest paid then only deduction is available.
Such loan has to be taken from any financial institution or from any approved charitable institution.
Check if your employer fall under above mentioned category other wise even interest paid on higher education but not eligible under section 80E.

17 June 2012 I am working for POWERGRID CORPORATION OF INDIA LTD, a Public Sector Company involved construction and maintenance of UHV transmission lines in India. I request you to inform still Whether Interest accrued on education loan taken from employer is eligible for deduction under 80E of Income tax return for 2012-13.

17 June 2012 Deduction u/s 80E is available if the loan is taken from a FINANCIAL INSTITUTION

Accordingly, deduction is NOT available in respect of loan taken from Powergrid Corporation of India.
